Biographie |

Acteur-réalisateur-cascadeur-producteur-chanteur le plus connu de la planète. Jackie Chan, de son véritable nom CHEN Gangsheng, est né en 1954 à Hong Kong. Dès l'âge de 7 ans, il rentre à l'Opéra de Pékin où il va apprendre les arts martiaux. Très vite, il développe de réelles aptitudes pour jouer la comédie et des producteurs l'engagent pour tourner dans plusieurs films cantonais à petit budget. Multipliant les petits rôles, il finit par être remarqué par le cinéaste John Woo dans Hand of Death.
En 1978, la carrière de Jackie Chan va prendre un tournant inattendu. Ng See Yuen, Yuen Woo Ping, et lui-même vont alors révolutionner le genre avec un film : Snake in the Eagle's Shadow. Jackie peut enfin grâce à ce film montrer ses talents de comédiens et le film remporte un vif succès en mélangeant habilement action et humour.
Ayant enfin trouvé ses marques et son style, Jackie décide de prendre son envol et en 1979 il réalise lui-même son film suivant, The Fearless Hyena, qui fait un véritable triomphe. En 1980, Raymond Chow exporte Jackie aux USA pour le faire jouer sous la direction de Robert Clouse dans le Chinois, puis les deux Cannonball Run dans lequel Jackie campe dans un second rôle un pilote de prototype made in Taïwan. De retour à HK, Jackie tourne sous la houlette de son ex-compère Sammo Hung et sort la tête de l'eau en réalisant le Marin des Mers de Chine dans lequel il retrouve pleinement son rôle de casse-cou grimaçant.
Après Drunken Master 2 Jackie Chan sent que c'est le moment de retenter sa chance aux USA. Et cette fois-ci ça marche, son nouveau film, Rumble in the Bronx réalise un excellent score et du même coup les distributeurs s'empressent de faire sortir d'autres films de Jackie sur les écrans américains comme Police Story 3 - Supercop et Drunken Master II.
Ce qui est encore plus encourageant est que sa côte ne diminue pas avec le temps et qu'Hollywood semble enfin avoir accepté son statut de star, à moins que...
Note : Jackie a un fils Jaycee Chan qui suit tout comme son père une carrière artistique de chanteur.
