Née le 27 février 1965, Maggie Siu n’est certes pas une star de la cinématographie hongkongaise, mais a connu une jolie carrière à la télévision (une quarantaine de projets divers) où elle a débuté au milieu des années 80. Sur le grand écran, elle a cotoyé Yuen Biao et Ronny Yu pour le film Shogun & Little Kitchen et a collaboré à deux reprises avec le réalisateur Patrick Yau (Longest Nite et Loser's Club). En 2003, sa prestation dans PTU de Johnnie To lui permet de décrocher une nomination pour le meilleur second rôle féminin au HK Awards.
Côté vie privée, Maggie Siu est « célèbre » pour avoir été larguée par Ekin Cheng après sept ans de vie commune (les fameuses sept années de reflexion chères à Billy Wilder), ce dernier lui ayant préféré la jeune Gigi Leung.
