Plot |
|
Tang Xinwen is invited to stay with her classmate Fang Simei in their family mansion, Garden of Dreams. Simei’s brother Sichen is immediately smitten with the lively and spirited guest. The mansion was built by the father Jingzhi in memory of a lost love, Xu Menghua. Jingzhi, estranged from his arranged wife, is notorious for his loose ways with women. Sichen begins to waste himself in grief after the mysterious death of his girlfriend Haishan of an overdose of sleeping pills. Tang, who delivers him from his grief, incurs the wrath of the maid Yuping who has a crush on the young master, resulting in Tang’s expulsion after a series of heated rows. But the mother finally relents to Sichen’s wishes and approves the marriage when Tang collapses into coma after drinking some sedative-laced tea prepared by the mother. Confronted by Sichen, the mother reveals the startling blood relationship between the son and his half-sisters, Haishan, Yuping and Simei, prompting a distraught Haishan to take her life. Tang and Sichen tie the knot amid the tragedy.
