HK is not only an essential trading hub and tourist magnet in Asia but also a cinegenic place appreciated by a great many filmmakers from all over the world. Kill Bill, Spy Game, You Only Live Twice , to name but a few, had scenes shot in HK. (Map of the area)
The HSBC Main Building / 滙豐總行大廈

Location: The HSBC Main Building, 1 Queen's Road, Central, Hong Kong Island 滙豐總行大廈 皇后大道中1號 Film:Spy Game 諜戰 (2001, USA) / Dir: Tony Scott
The HSBC Main Building serves as the current head office of HSBC in Hong Kong. It is located at 1 Queen’s Road in Central and was put into use on 7th April 1986. It was considered the most expensive building in the world at that time --it cost HKD 5.2 billion. Designed by renowned architect Norman Foster, who kept the 1997 HK handover in mind while conceiving the building, the HSBC headquarter contains no internal support structure. The idea was that it could be dismantled at any time if needed, especially after the China takeover of the city in 1997.
In Spy Game, the HSBC Main Building is dressed as the U.S Consulate and the U.S. intelligence command center in China.

Ladder Street X Square Street
Location: Central, HONG KONG Film:The World of Suzie Wong (UK, 1960) 苏丝黄的世界/ Dir: Richard Quine
Nam Kok Hotel in the film is supposed to be in Wanchai, the centre for prostitution in the 1960s HK. In truth the location chosen for the shooting was at the crossroad between Ladder Street and Square Street, near the Man Mo Temple, between Central and the Mid-levels.
The World of Suzie Wong is one of the few excellent movies shot in HK by a foreign crew in the 1960s. Nancy Kwan here is just icing as Suzie Wong, a mystic character that appeared in a string of films.
Suzie Wong not only captured the collective consciousness of Westerners, but also of Asian people. She lent her name to a Beijing club, a London and a New York bar, a Japanese comic-book heroine, a Singaporean apparel brand, and even a fancy cocktail.
