Once famed midget actor know mostly for two roles. One was the devious diminutive dapper suited henchmen Nick Nack in The James Bond outing Man With The Golden Gun, the other was Tatoo inthe late seventies/early eighties TV series Fantasy Island. He played in both manservant to tall suave and mysterious gentlemen on an island. The James Bond series is well known for it’s quirky henchmen role (Oddjob in Goldenfinger, Jaws in the Spy Who Loved Me to name to two most famous). With his diminutive stature, asian features and French accented voice (he was born in France from Pilipino parents) Nick Nack proved himself one of the most oddball henchmen of all. Aside form his Man with the Golden Gun part, which was shot in Hong-Kong and Thailand, Hervé Villechaize has no connection with Asian cinema.
Fired from Fantasy Island after having too much of a pay raise, Hervé killed himself a decade later in 1993 after enduring years of painful ailments brought about by his midget condition.
