Begun his music career as a bassist and later on, he played with different groups as a drummer. When he recorded his debut album as a soloist in 1979, it was the same year D.Summer was granted the "Most Promising New Artist" Award. In the early 80's, D.Summer joined "Creation", a top Japanese Blues Rock band, on a Japan Tour as their guest vocalist. Later, he reformed his backing group "VISA BAND" and performed for various events accompanied by quality musicians. VISA BAND contributed impeccable arts of music to the local scene. By then, Danny Summer was renowned as "Rock & Roll Godfather" of Hong Kong.
