Namewee is a musician and film maker that graduated from Ming Chuan University Taiwan in 2006.
He became popular through youtube in 2007 with his self made videos and music including hits like Muar Chinese, Negarakuku and Nah! In July 2009, Namewee composed the theme and ending songs for the latest Singaporean film Where Got Ghost? 吓到笑 which was released on 13 August 2009. Namewee’s music has proven to be popular amongst young Malaysians with music videos average exceeds 500,000 views.
He acted as the principal cast in Potong Saga, one of the 15 Malaysia Short Films and as a supporting cast member in Meter. In October 2010, Namewee has also been officially invited to attend the world famous Busan Film Festival in South Korea. His debut directorial piece Nasi Lemak 2.0 has received rave reviews and is currently the highest-grossing local Chinese movie so far
Since 2010, Namewee becomes one of the most recognized artiste / personality in Malaysia with most popular Youtube account in Malaysia and Facebook fan-base exceeding 537,000.
