Stanley Tong, director, choreographer, stuntman, actor is the friend of Jackie Chan. Like other HK film makers, he went to America especially Canada, before returning in Hong Kong.
He began his career as stuntman then, like much of others, for the productions Shaw Brothers. He doubled everyone, Leslie Cheung, Brandon Lee, Michelle Yeoh, Maggie Cheung. Gradually he would give up this first job to become stunt choregrapher, then director assistant. He would be thus the producer, director and author of Stone Age Warriors. Wanted to step back, Jackie Chan asked to Stanley Tong to codirect three movies. Rumble in the bronx being successful in the USA, it was thus normal that he emigrated with Jackie in Hollywood.
His first American film is a stew : Mister Maggoo. Fortunately, he directed several episodes of the series TV of his friend Sammo Hung : Martial law.
