HKCinemagic: You’ve had the opportunity to play both good and bad guys at various times. Do you prefer playing the hero or villain? |
Scott Adkins: I just had an opportunity to play the anti-hero in Undisputed 3 which was great. You’re basically a villain in the good guys shoes. In Ninja I’m the polar opposite, clean cut good guy so it’s always nice to mix it up. I have a feeling people will prefer seeing me as the Boyka character though, I think I’m probably better suited for that. |

HKCinemagic: Do you recall the most difficult fight scene you’ve ever had? Could you tell us a bit about what made it that much tougher? |
Scott Adkins: The most difficult stuff I’ve done has been in my most recent movies Ninja and Undisputed 3. I’m always trying to raise the bar and do things that I’ve never seen done before. The end fight of Undisputed 3 was very difficult because we had three days to shoot it but really we needed about six. Come the third day I was about ready to drop. It’s very very draining. Also on Ninja I did a big fight scene against 12 men with a really badly sprained ankle. I had to perform some very complex kicks and although I couldn’t walk properly I’m happy to say we didn’t cut one move out and there’s some pretty crazy moves. |

HKCinemagic: You’ve starred in some great films under the watchful eye of Isaac Florentine. How did you first meet him? |
Scott Adkins: I sent him my demo reel and he gave me a call and had a role written for me in Special Forces. |
|
HKCinemagic: Having worked together on so many projects there’s clearly a level of comfort and trust. What do you enjoy most about working with him? |
Scott Adkins: He understands what is needed in order to make a good action film, not just story and action wise but also in terms of scheduling. He understands where best to put the camera and edits the film in his head ahead of time. He knows exactly what he wants and is a great visual stylist. I owe him a lot, he has given me a career. |
