HKCinemagic: What kind of moviegoer are you? |
Nicholas Chin: I see everything but not horror or science fiction. Anything supernatural still gives me nightmares. |
|
HKCinemagic: What’s up with today’s indie films in HK? |
Nicholas Chin: There are a strong crop of upcoming new local directors, Kenneth Bi, Edmond Pang Ho Cheung and Vincent Chui. Also and more importantly there is a new wave of young HK and Taiwan woman producers coming onto the scene with different, more daring and open tastes.
Look too at Alivenotdead.com which has also really brought in a sense of community to the indie scene. |

HKCinemagic: What’s up with mainstream films in HK? |
Nicholas Chin: Have you seen La Lingerie? Honest, full of life, it is an old school HK slapstick comedy, with no pretensions. This film is why I love Hong Kong cinema. |
