 Notes
Interview conducted by Arnaud Lanuque at The Rideau, Hong Kong, on March 14, 2007

Special thanks to Jimmy Wong for his participation and to Mike Leeder for his help.

HKCinemagic : After 2000, you kind of stopped your movie career. I guess it's what you told us, about being more picky witht the parts you take?

Jimmy Wong : I still did a couple of dramas. Actually, one of them was pretty good. It was a kind of romantic comedy and people liked it a lot actually. It was quite light but I got a lot of good feedbacks. People in the streets of China stopped me… They liked this character. I was a successful young businessman, in a light comedy way, the president's daughter was in love with me but she was a prima donna and I went up falling with my secretary who is not a very pretty looking girl. It was funny! And I've done the TV series Stormriders, shot in Mainland. I got good reviews for this one too. Now, as far as Hong Kong is concerned, I want to do my own things. I'm still looking for the movie I would really be proud of. I'm looking at some script and am gathering some people together in the US . It's at a very beginning stage but I have good hopes. We are trying to do some crossovers, find like an Armerican actor or actress who would like to promote itself more in Asia and at the same time, it would help us to secure distribution. Something which would benefit for everybody.

Dragon Reloaded

HKCinemagic : Still, you continued to appear in a few productions, like in Beyond Our Ken.
Jimmy Wong : Oh, it's by friendship. Catherine was involved in the production, I met her on Ah Kam and we became friends. She's a producer and she proposed me to participate. I only did one day actually. She proposes me some cameos sometimes. But actually, one of the cameos I did I really like is in Dragon Reloaded. It was really fun. I did enjoy doing this film. My next movie may be a romantic comedy. I'm checking the script now, a story based on East meets West as I said earlier. But working with Edmond Pang was fine, I enjoyed it, it's always interesting to work with young directors.
