Athena touched by Eric Kot's character in Ah Fai the Dumb

The other venture of the actress outside comedy during those years 1995/1997 was Ah Fai the Dumb. Close to a UFO production, this Derek Chiu's effort tells the story of Ah Fai, a young retarded man beloved by people of the neighborhood. Following an accident, Ah Fai acquires the ability to predict the future of people. This new power makes him become famous and rich but losing his friends at the same time… Ah Fai The Dumb is an interesting drama focusing on the human good sides. It is a good opportunity for Athena Chu to portray a common girl, a salesgirl from Temple Street, without emphasizing her physical beauty. Using only her acting skills, she confirmed she was a natural talented performer (her scenes with Eric Kot are touching and full of a sweet charm), ready to take any part, in any field, as long as she's given the chance. She only needed more challenging parts and demanding directors to make her talent blossom.
