I always find these things very difficult to do for some reason. They are in no particular order. I have selected these films to emphasize two things. First, since 1997, there has been a huge diversification of the Hong Kong film scene, so I wanted to include some documentaries and independent films. Second, Hong Kong and mainland cinemas are becoming harder and harder to distinguish, with so many films from both places starring actors from the other, and often funded by both sides. So, I wanted to include some films that can count as Hong Kong films, but maybe most people would not think of as Hong Kong films.
