The present article was firstly published in the first English lifestyle magazine in China, that’s Shanghai. that’s readers are new to Tsui Hark’s work and the world of Hong Kong movies.
A long awaited new movie from Tsui Hark, Seven Swords has generated skepticism from both critics and viewers. Thomas Podvin delves into Tsui’s career to show that the Film Workshop master has been true to himself adapting the wu xia novel into a long epic.
