Fuk Ching is a farmer in a small village in Fuzhou who maximises every square inch: his kitchen doubles as a restaurant and even fish droppings fertilise the vegetables. To maximise his income, he even allows tourists to visit. One of these visitors, Panda, proposes redeveloping the farm into a hotel for an 80% commission. Fuk Ching decides to go it alone, taking a three-day business trip to Hong Kong, taking tips from hotel manager Vivian who initially mistakes them for towel thieves. He returns to build his dream hotel with the help of the community ... but the real challenge comes when the Tourist Board arrives to assess the hotel's star rating.
