Plot

A tall, lanky, and VERY 70's looking George Lazenby is a hot-headed Australian cop named Jack Stoner who's trying to trace the origin of a new super drug called "the happy pill". Sweet and demure Angela Mao is a Taiwanese cop who also gets assigned to the case, although her investigation is much more discreet (and she's oh-so-cute!). They both finally end up at the evil drug lord's mansion and beat everyone up in a blistering barrage of martial arts fisticuffs. (Joy Sales)

  Notes
1.  This film was originally titled "The Shrine of Ultimate Bliss" and was to co-star Bruce Lee along with George Lazenby, but Lee died about two weeks before filming was set to begin.

George Lazenby signed on for this film and two others at a pay rate of $10,000 US per film. This was a very large pay cut from his normal film salary. He took such a big paycut because Bruce Lee was originally supposed to co-star in the film and it was to have a large budget and was going to be distributed by Warner Bros. worldwide. Lazenby had been signed and paid by Lee in Hong Kong just two weeks before Lee Died. It was Lazenby's belief that by agreeing to co-star in Lee's next three film projects that he would help his career which was on the slide after he quit the part of James Bond. Therefore he agreed to make the films for less money. Lee wanted Lazenby in the films because of his having been Bond. When Lee died Lazenby was bound to his contract for three films, which all ended up being cheaply made and not given a US release. Lazenby also could not demand any more money for the roles.

Before Bruce Lee died and thus could not make this film, the original marketing and tagline of the film was going to be "It's Lee, It's Lazenby, It's Bruce vs. Bond".

This film was originally intended to be the largest budgeted martial arts/Hong Kong made film of all time and to have a wide international release, including a US release. But when the film's star Bruce Lee died suddenly, the film's budget was significantly scaled back and it was given a limited release, which did not include the US. George Lazenby had signed on for the part when Lee was still alive and when the film was set to be a very large budget production with a US release.

During filming George Lazenby suffered an allergic reaction to the shampoo at his hotel and as a result he got the condition alopecia, which caused his hair to fall out.
